As the semester comes to a close (and before I lapse into a sleep-coma) I would like to take a moment to share the hard work my PR Campaigns students put into their service-learning capstone. These students worked tirelessly on highly creative and effective ways to promote nonprofits in the Baton Rouge Community. We were honored to work this semester with Big Buddy, Connections for Life, Special Olympics of Louisiana – Capital Area, and Youth Oasis.
Current Communications created a full campaign for Youth Oasis and held a family festival to promote the children’s shelter.
Morph PR created a full campaign for Connections for Life and held two events: an informational booth about the thrift store on Earth Day and a 15th anniversary gala for the rehabilitation and re-entry program.
Reach PR created a full campaign for Big Buddy with Legacy event asking former Big Buddies to give back to the mentoring organization.
Olympia Creative created a full campaign for Special Olympics of Louisiana – Capital Area with a camp day for athletes and buddies to get more experience and more information about the organization’s “united in victory” program.
Overall, this group of students did amazing work for their clients and is sure to go far following graduation. I can’t verbalize how extremely proud of them I am! (exclamation point intended:) I can’t wait to see them all walk in their caps and gowns next week. It will be a tear-filled day.
